Bonneville 400 India Launch

17 June 2026

The Triumph Bonneville 400 is confirmed to launch in India

The Triumph Bonneville 400 is confirmed to launch in India in Q4 2026, expected around the festive period just before Diwali. The launch window is pegged at September–October 2026. The delay has a regulatory reason. Had the new GST rules not come into effect in September 2025, the Bonneville 400 would've been on sale in India already. Since Bajaj-Triumph had to rework the engine to bring it under 350cc, the launch was pushed to later this year.

Engine & Specs The India-spec Bonneville 400 will be powered by the new 349cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, producing 36.5 bhp and 32 Nm of torque — the same base unit shared with the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. The engine is expected to be tuned for smoother low and mid-range delivery, befitting its retro-classic character.

Design Highlights The bike features a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a circular LED headlamp, and a single-pod instrument console. It has wide handlebars, a flat single-piece seat, and a peashooter exhaust. Interestingly, the Bonneville 400 houses a circular instrument cluster, as compared to the semi-circular unit seen in the Speed 400. Wire-spoke wheels and dual-channel ABS complete the package.

Manufacturing & Price The Bonneville 400 is slated for local production at Bajaj Auto's Pune factory under the Bajaj-Triumph alliance. The expected price range in India is ₹2,00,000 to ₹2,20,000 (ex-showroom).

Market Position The Bonneville 400 will be the seventh model in the Bajaj-Triumph 400 portfolio, joining the Speed T4, Speed 400, Scrambler 400X, Scrambler 400 XC, Thruxton 400, and Tracker 400. It will be pitted directly against the Royal Enfield Classic 350 in the Indian market due to its retro styling. The move represents a new threat to Royal Enfield's decades-long dominance of the retro-styled motorcycle space, particularly its best-selling Classic 350.

All specifications and pricing are based on pre-launch reports and spy shots. Official figures will be confirmed closer to launch.
